Sugaring

Sugaring is by far the most gentle, result oriented, and ancient technique for hair-removal. Often credited as natural laser, it is a gentle paste made of sugar, lemon, and hot water. Hibba’s Studio is one of the very few places in NYC that practices the authentic art of sugaring (also known as halawa gel). The solution is water based and soluble, therefore any residual wax is easily cleaned off with water. It is suitable for all body parts except eyebrows and eventually slows down your hair growth.
How does it work? Just like azulene wax, this gel is melted into a can and applied in the direction of hair growth and pulled in the opposite direction with mueslin strips.

Why sugaring? It is 100 % natural. It is great for pregnant women, or women with skin sensitivity issues. It only sticks to the hair and not the skin, therefore leaving the skin damage free. Sugaring drastically reduces hair-growth after a few sessions.
